Why Hayes Should Not Have Won the Election
The place of President is the most of import place in the United States authorities. Wouldn t you think that we should hold the really best adult male in that place that we can acquire? I, Samuel Tilden, feel that the Election of 1876 was a shame to the history of our authorities. I still believe that I should hold won that election because of corruptness of the vote procedure itself, he didn Ts have the organisation a president should hold and because the people wanted me to win, non Rutherford. I surely believe that the chosen president should reflect the people s pick.
One ground why Hayes should non be president is because of the Election of 1876 itself. When the ballots were counted and sent in to Washington, I was the clear victor ; 203 to 165 electoral ballots ( Haworth 76 ) . However, the vile Republicans decided to alter the ballots of the three provinces they still controlled by throwing off Democratic ballots! Obviously this International Relations and Security Network t how the leaders of the United States should be moving. You can t alter what the people want by throwing out ballots. Subsequently, when Congress held a meeting to make up one’s mind whom the victor should be, there was an unjust sum of Republicans over Democrats, so we were bound to lose. We accepted the Compromise of 1877 because another Civil War would non be worth it ( Robinson 111 ) .
After Hayes became pre

Although I happen to love this state really much, I do believe there were many errors made in the Election of 1876. The Democrats were put at a terrible disadvantage in the election and if it were just, like the manner an election should hold been, I would hold been the 19th President of the United States of America. I can merely woolgather that the future coevalss and presidents will non fall victim to the greed of more Republicans.
