Some psychologists say that a human personality is formed by tonss of circumstance she was born and raised within. And. among these fortunes. they say. belonging to this or that racial and/or cultural group is one of the most influencing.
As for me I have ne’er felt my racial and cultural heritage defined my societal place. I do non experience myself on a dominant societal place or a representative of low-level societal class. My skin color. my beliefs and values have made an undeniable consequence on my personality. and. accordingly. my life. but neither my household nor I have ne’er been denied any societal chances. or. vise versa. received any discriminatory intervention because of our ethnicity or race. Of class some people still have stereotypes about my race. and construct their primary attitude towards me utilizing these images from popular films and books. but after they get to cognize me small better their attitude is defined by my personal qualities. and non by my ethnicity or skin color. And. I am the first member of my household who attends college. but. once more. this fact is defined by my educational and calling ends. non by my race or ethnicity.
From the anthropologist and sociological point of position I belong to the minor racial and cultural groups. My visual aspect is different from that of the mean U. S citizen. as I have xanthous tegument and dark hair. a typical Asiatic phenotype ; my attitudes towards some things. like household. imposts. and personal life are besides different. as my household originates from Vietnam. Nevertheless I seldom feel it. and even when I do. I feel comfy with it. U. S civilization made the greatest impact on my perceptual experience of my personality. ends. feelings. beliefs and values. I suppose there are some cultural issues that influenced me. but my perceptual experience of life. of right and incorrect is that of the U. S citizen. as I have lived here for all my life. I feel I am a free person. capable of constructing his life the manner he truly wants to.
Neither I nor my household has of all time been treated otherwise because of our ethnicity or race. and the norms I assimilated from American civilization allowed me to work efficaciously in the U. S society.
