“Nine Ten” by Warren Leight Essay Sample

In reaction to the 1 act play “Nine Ten” written by Warren Leight. The research I have done and the grounds found in the drama proves that this was written about the twenty-four hours before the events of nine eleven in two 1000 and one. This drama is about jurymans kicking of how bad things were when they were called for jury responsibility and how a twosome characters were traveling to seek to acquire out of jury responsibility. At the terminal. a Court Officer won’t listen to their alibis and makes a statement stoping the drama. What my reaction to the significance of the statement is that. it was sort of dry because of what happened the twenty-four hours after. and how the jurymans thought that things were bad. The Court Officer said that in two to three yearss that they could travel back to their normal lives non cognizing about what was traveling to go on the following twenty-four hours. I think that it taught the jurymans that being called for jury responsibility isn’t bad and it is a simple manner of functioning their state. Besides in context. it would demo the premise that the jurymans would be unmindful to the nine 11 events. And that after that twenty-four hours their lives would be changed everlastingly and they would non be able to travel back to their normal lives once more.

After reading the Court Officers concluding statement once more. I realized that it was speaking about the twenty-four hours before the terrorist onslaughts on the United States of America. My feeling of the jurymans before I found out the day of the month is that. the simple undertaking of functioning their state was like a load to them and that they couldn’t bother to make this because it was destroying their twenty-four hours or day-to-day modus operandis. After I found out freshly gained information and realized the day of the month. my attitude changed from impersonal to being negative towards the actions and ideas of the jurymans. My feeling of the jurymans changed from their attitudes as being rigorous and selfish to them being ignorant and barbarian. The juror’s attitudes changed to being ignorant and barbarian because each citizen has a responsibility whether it’s vote. working. etc. and that they must populate up to their responsibility and if they don’t in some instances they can be looked down upon. And citizens don’t know when things are traveling to go on and how things are traveling drama out. hence if a tragic event occurs they are daunted with guilt from the act of holding their actions and ideas.

I believe the drama should hold a major impact on its reader’s even if it is on any event that had happened in history. How it had impacted me and how I think it had impacted many of its other readers is how people take their right to citizenship for granted. And that they don’t recognize their freedom can be taking off easy and through. in this instance. terrorist onslaughts or a simple thing like ; being persecuted for stealing nutrient. Warren Leight’s purpose I believe for making this one act drama is to foreground the issue of being a citizen and the responsibilities that follow being a citizen ; including the citizen’s beliefs and how they are against certain responsibilities of being a citizen. The message that was created in this one drama by Warren Leight that I had gotten is we as citizens shouldn’t complain about making a simple thing because in the long tally something tragic could go on to convey on guilt. Another message I got is things can acquire a batch worse than they already are.
