Since the seventeenth century William Shakespeare, the greatest author of all clip, has had more dramas reproduced than any other dramatist has. Shakespeare s ability to compose has stood the trial of clip. His dramas continue to do us laugh and shout all the piece learning us lessons of life. The beauty of Shakespeare s authorship is the versatility of his dramas ; each drama has been reproduced many different ways. The manufacturer and manager make the concluding determination on how they would wish the narrative to play out in their production. One drama in peculiar has been done infinite times, A Midsummer s Night s Dream has been reproduced in many different ways. The relationships throughout this drama can be depicted otherwise depending on how the lines are read ( attitude and tone ) , what if any lines are cut, and even who reads the lines. The reassignment of lines is non against any regulations when reproducing a Shakespeare drama ; this reassignment can do a immense difference in how a character is perceived.

In the latest production of A Midsummer s Night s Dream, by me personally, I have chosen to except any struggles of love between our opening scene twosome Theseus and Hipolyta. This couple sets the phase for love and to open the drama with a battle between the lone two people, at this clip engaged to be wed would be damaging to my fairy narrative of love. ( I, i, 15-18 ) The difference will be his tone of voice, Theseus will sound unagitated and loving towards Hipolyta. The key, in my production, to maintaining these lines and doing the audience believe Theseus and Hipolyta are in love will be the add-on of a opening scene.

The gap scene in this newest production of A Midsummer s Night s Dream will dwell of a war in which the Atheaneans are contending the Amazonian people. From there we go straight to Hipolyta s throne, where she sits entirely, Theseus flings open the dual doors to run into the beautiful queen. Theseus and hipolyta intermission as they stare at one another, so Hipolyta smiles every bit if to state, I have been defeated and I am in awe of your power. The beauty of this scene is that there are no words of all time spoken but the point has been made. This is really of import since no lines can been introduced whenever reproducing Shakespeare. And without words I can show to the audience that Hipolyta is non angry for being defeated. After this of import gap scene, the following scene
