In the film Cry Freedom Steven Biko is a black human rights leader. He is loved by the black community but hated and feared purchase the white South African community. James Wood, the editor of a white newspaper, befriends Biko and agrees to travel to a black township with him. Biko, nevertheless, is banned from these townships by the authorities. While in this township a state of affairs arises where an analogy of the governmental and humanistic state of affairss is compared to a tabular array.

The conversation begins when Woods says that the authorities is get downing to give inkinesss better instruction. Biko so says, I won t be forced into your society. You can make whatever you want to me, crush me, torment me or kill me but I wont be what you want me to be, I will be who I am ( sic ) . Woods the says, I don t know, something about it still scares me ( sic ) , and Biko answers, Of class it does. Your universe, the white universe depicts white as pure and the colour black as immorality ( sic ) . Biko s friend portrays the table analogy.

He says that the job with society is that the you ( mentioning to Whites ) allow us- mentioning to inkinesss to come to your tabular array, sit in your chairs, eat your nutrient, utilize your silverware, and if we are good plenty, you will kindly let us to remain. But we cant have that, we must pass over the table clean, and do a black tabular array, live in peace as we did before you came.

Forests so makes a sarcastic comment implementing the impression of paternalism, You did hold tribal tungsten

Ars so, didn T you? ( sic ) . And Biko intelligently replied, What make you name World War one and two?

The black position calls for confrontation as mentioned in the film. At Biko s test, a attorney uses one of Biko s addresss where he called for direct confrontation. The attorney says that Biko was motivating a rebellion against the authorities. Biko so says to the attorney, I m am here now, facing you, yet I see no force ( sic ) . I agree with Biko, no state of affairs has of all time been resolved by idle choler and dissension. I m non stating there is demand for force. Knowledge is power and if the remainder of the non-segregated universe knows, so they have the power to alter, the power to coerce the South African authorities against apartheid as is done today by N.A.T.O. and the U.N.

Both positions seem shocking to me in the sense that they both enforce the impression of segregation. The Whites want to command the inkinesss at their tabular array and the inkinesss what to command themselves at their ain tabular array. In my position, worlds are worlds, I do non care if they are white, black, xanthous, orange, purple, Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Satanist or heathen. Their should be no tabular array, merely a dining hall. A room that is so called Earth. And that room should be populated by any and all living existences in a peaceable and productive manner. Those people who do non whish to be peaceable or sort should be the 1s treated like the inkinesss, sitting at the white tabular array, non work forces, adult females and kids who would work for that great hall.
