Don & # 8217 ; t you never. & # 8217 ; & # 8220 ; The hostility Jewel holds toward Anse is tremendous, and this scene intensifies it demoing that Jewel knows the truth or at least has a just thought. We besides see that Darl knows, and how he knows. At the terminal of the chapter, he sees his female parent weeping

over Jewel when he is kiping. He could see her torment and about experience it. His empathy and intuition led him to detecting the truth, and he besides confirms his cognition of Dewey Dell’s gestation. We see the strength of his intuition and how it affects the remainder of the household. The fact that Darl knows likely heightens the competition between the two brothers.
