Out of Africa, the subject environing the art sculptures and masks at the American River College Art Gallery, can be viewed from February 21st through March 16th from 11am? 5pm. The exhibit contains a aggregation of artefacts, chiefly masks, owned by private aggregators in the Sacramento country. Since the graphics is in private owned, information on the artefacts and the creative person is slightly limited. Though limited, the exhibition still provides facts on the graphics and an approximative location of where it originated. The exhibit includes masks, woodcarvings, sculptures, and images related to Africa.
One peculiar image titled? Togo Landscape, ? is that it is made out of thin wood strips, native workss, and fabric sewed into a canvas. It is about 30 old ages old and was made in Nigeria. The image is of a adult female transporting a barrel on her caput and a little kid looking up at what seems to be his female parent, both cut outs of black fabric. The colour is achieved merely by the usage of a different type of wood or a works.
