John Donne’s ”Mediation 17” and Simon Paul’s ”I am a Rock” Essay Sample

While reading two pieces of literature. John Donne’s “Mediation 17 and Simon Paul’s “I am a Rock” both creative persons have differ in manner of composing but at the terminal of the twenty-four hours. both artist refer to the same construct of life. John Donne negotiations about how everyone should be connected whereas Simon Paul negotiations about isolation. John Donne’s “Mediation 17” and Simon Paul’s “I am a Rock” both differ in manner. the usage of metaphors but the terminal consequence of both contrast the importance of humanity. John Donne literature reminds us that we are all interrelated and loved by everyone. The Metaphors used in Mediation 17 by John Donne assist the verse form itself sounds better. An illustration of a metaphor is “No adult male is an island. full of itself ; every adult male is a piece of the continent. a portion of the main” . These quotation marks / metaphors make a comparing between how people are interconnected and valued equally. Mediation 17 besides contrasts the importance of humanity and connexion. When one baptizes a kid. that action concerns others ; for that kid is thereby connected to that organic structure which is can be person else’s caput excessively. and ingrafted into that organic structure whereof I am a member.

Individualism has pervaded society today and affects households and relationships such that it becomes about us instead than us. The truth is that the person is a barbarous prevarication that none of us can bear. Nevertheless. both creative persons. John Donne and Simon Paul contributed greatly on humanity. love. effection. and interconnectedness. and both used great usage of metahphors and different styples of authorship.
