A constable is an official assigned to maintain the peace and to cover with more serious breaches of the jurisprudence. ( Dempsey and Forst. p. 4 ) In the common pledge system citizens were expected to patrol their ain communities. If there was problem in the community so they would raise a chromaticity and call.
