From 100 to 600 C. E. Rome went under many alterations culturally and politically. Culturally Rome adopted a new faith. Politically there was a division of the imperium. With so many alterations. there were a few continuities in the imperium.

At foremost. the Roman Empire considered Christianity a menace. and they persecuted those who followed the faith. Even though the Christians were persecuted Christianity still grew mostly in the imperium. Finally Constantine had to legalise Christianity in 313 C. E. and it became the faith of Rome.

Politically there was a immense alteration in the imperium. When Diocletian became emperor of the imperium in 284 C. E. he realized it was excessively big for one adult male to command. So he divided it into two halves east and west. One ground for the division was that the Roman Empire was so huge that there were excessively many different thoughts on how to run the imperium and it was impossible to do everyone happy. therefore spliting the imperium. In 306 a civil war broke out between the two halves. and in 324 Constantine united the two and moved the capital from Rome to Constantinople. But the emperors after him were to weak and the imperium divided once more in 395 C. E. Even though the Roman Empire had experienced important alterations. they surprisingly preserved many of the cultural ways. When the Byzantine Empire ( Eastern Roman Empire ) split. they were still able to keep the Christian beliefs. Besides the patriarch did non alteration. the male parent was the swayer of the family and he had control over everything.

The chief cultural alteration was that the Romans stopped oppressing the Christians. and Christianity became the chief faith. Politically the imperium divided into the E and West.
