For this month & # 8217 ; s book study I read a novel called April Morning by Howard Fast. This book was about a male child named Adam who fought in the conflict of Lexington. Adam thought his male parent didn & # 8217 ; t love him, because the male parent ne’er said a sort word to him. Adam & # 8217 ; s male parent was a member of the town commission. The male parent could win an statement with anyone and that & # 8217 ; s why some people feared confrontation with him.

One dark a horseback rider from Boston came to warn the town that the British were coming. Everyone panicked and all of the work forces in the town including the clergyman signed up to contend. At first, they had non planned to contend, and they thought that they would seek to ground with the British, but evidently the British had different programs, because when they came, they shot Adam & # 8217 ; s father right in forepart of him. Many work forces died that eventide, and everyone started to run. They fought for hours and eventually the town won, but merely because they joined forces with other towns and hid when they were contending.

I thought this was a really good book. The author describes everything in item and I could visualize every scene in my caput, particularly when the writer described the male parent as being stubborn. I think that let the male child know that the Americans weren & # 8217 ; t every bit barbarian as he had been told.

It was besides nice that the reserves won the conflict, because if the British had won, it would & # 8217 ; ve made the narrative wholly sad. I enjoyed reading this book, but I would urge it to ages 13 and up, because of the force.
